Little more than a month has passed since Della's surgery. This morning Dr. Lee removed the drain from her side. It "burned" - Della's word. Dr. Lee said she looked "terrific", was happy to hear she has regained her appetite for "normal" food, and was thinking about getting back to her Silver Sneakers program. He said she should wait at least a month before she resumes the exercise program. And he told her that she needs to rest and continue to regain her strength. He will see her in May after she has another MRI to see how her pancreas is doing. We found out two weeks ago that the tumor was not malignant, and that news made Thanksgiving Day especially joyful.
Della and I celebrated the removal of the drain by lunching at Bruno's, a pizza and Italian food place not to far from the house. She had Eggplant Parmigiana - I went for less exotic fair, spaghetti with hot Italians sausage.
